Ingredients
Dough
3-4 Boskop apples
1 lemon
2 medium-sized eggs
160g brown sugar
1 packet of vanilla sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
125g soft butter
A pinch of salt
150g spelt flour
2 tsp baking powder
100 ml milk
75g finely sliced almonds
Zubereitung
Apple preparation:
Peel and core the apples and cut them into thin slices.
Squeeze the juice from the lemon and mix it carefully with the apple slices to avoid discoloration.
Dough base:
Melt the butter and set aside to cool.
Mix eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla sugar, soft butter and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
Add spelt flour and baking powder and mix well.
Stir in milk until a smooth dough forms.
Bake:
Put the dough into a greased springform pan.
Spread the sliced almonds evenly over the dough.
Place the prepared apple slices on top.
Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180 °C (fan oven) for about 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
Refine:
Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar.
Optionally serve with cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream
